Really like Syplheed (tried 8.1 then went back to the version that came with MDK 8.2- 7.3) but with both I am unable to send. Checked settings and compared them to KMail - they are the same but still no go. I find Syplheed blindingly fast but if I cannot get it to send mail it is not any good to me. Anyone else have this problem?

They told me I needed WIN95 or better
So I chose Linux!

Not really. Did you check log window (tools -> log window) ? We need
more info to help you.

Eh? Four other people have reported problems with sending. They, at
least, are all experiencing the same bug :) (Whether it be in the IMAP
server or not is indeterminate for me, since it used to work with
Sylpheed not a week or two ago)

Though we don't know that this person is experiencing the same bug, "Not
really." is a bit disingenuous.

In that case why don't you include the known information so they can
check if it's the same thing ? At least my reply requested more
information from them. Your reply is just worthless.

FOr the original posters: If it crashes on send, please also include a gdb
backtrace.

just run gdb like this:

% gdb sylpheed
[blablablbalbla]
(gdb) run
[now do your things to make it crash]
(gdb) bt full

Bye.

There is no error here, that's only a informative message and a HELO
command.
Show us the piece of log where mail is rejected :)

[12:26] SMTP< 250 hall.mail.mindspring.net Hello user-0cal5iq.cable.mindspring.com
UCE is "Unsolicited Commercial Email". I guess EarthLink thinks you're sending
junk mail and is therefore refusing it.

[Aside: So it is *not* the same bug reported by 4 other people]

best regards

Paul
