Hello there,

I've been a very happy user of Claws for few years, but I've been
looking for some more "integrated" mail/agenda/... client (professional
environment requiring combination of at least agenda and email client)

THE soft I'm looking for would be able to
- be a very good and light e-mail client (got used of Claws!!)
- get minimized in the systray (running KDE in a LinuxMint)
- handle agenda(s)
- have an user-friendly addressbook
- sync with Google agenda AND addressbook

I tried Kontact, which is very interesting, but I was unable to obtain a
clean and reliable sync of my contacts and my calendar with Google.

Also tried Evolution, but its integration in KDE is not very clean, and
it can't get minimized in the systray.

So, if Claws can now sync its calendar and addressbook with Google, I
think I'll stay with it.

I saw this thread:

Hi,
After these tries, I'd like to go back to Claws-mail which works a lot
better !!!
So, my question is : now, is it possible to connect Claws-mail with Google
Calendar and Google contacts ?
Google calendar probably works with the vcalendar plugin, about contacts it
depends, if it's an ldap server you can set it in the addressbook.

I was waiting for somebody to speak up with a better solution for
Google Contacts, but since nobody did, here I go:

I set up an Evolution addressbook for Google Contacts, let it sync
periodically, marked it as the default, and use the GNOME plugin for
Claws Mail [1] to include Evolution's default addressbook in the address
tab-completion.

Ugly as hell, but works good enough for me.

Is there anything new about this?

Thanks a lot for your help!
